Sydney Fabregas is an emerging American Soprano who currently works as a Principal Teaching Artist at Heartland Sings in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In her current position, she is a vocal instructor and performer and helps maintain outreach relationships with other community organizations.

Sydney has worn many hats throughout her life. Her love of singing emerged during long road trips, during which Sydney replaced the radio by singing along with her Sound of Music and Mary Poppins DVDs. At age five, she soon ventured into the world of community theatre, landing a starring role in her first-ever production, "Mommy Warbucks was hard to portray when the girl who played Annie was a full foot taller than her," she reminisced.

During middle school, she continued her career in community theatre productions of musicals and straight plays. While working backstage at her resident theatre, she became interested in pursuing special effects makeup. At the age of fourteen, she found herself a freelance makeup artist, and by the year's end, she had received an award for her work on a short film.

Once in high school, she maintained her focuses in the choir, theatre, and special effects. She was the only freshman to secure a casting in the much-coveted UIL play Antigone. The following year she secured a minor role in her school's music Zombie Prom and had the privilege of screaming at the top of the show, something she is proud of even to this day.

During her junior year, she began taking classical voice lessons in the studio of Mica Bull. At the end of the school year, she auditioned for the Houston Grand Opera High School Voices Studio, never thinking she would make it past the first round of 700 auditionees. A week later, she was called back, and a week after that, she received an invitation that would change her life forever, and she became a studio member and began vocal studies under Dr. Jason Lester.

Her senior year was a whirlwind of musical theatre, opera, and college preparation. Having landed a leading role in her last high school musical, Urinetown, Sydney decided that opera was her passion. After months of essays and auditions, Sydney decided to attend Houston Baptist University and remain a member of Dr. Jason Lester's voice studio, whom she began studying under while a Houston Grand Opera High School Voices Studio member.

While at HBU, she was cast in multiple opera scenes, became a soloist in the top choir on campus, and was a consistent member of The Dean's List. During her sophomore year, she won the president's competition and was given the opportunity of performing an aria on stage with a 60-piece orchestra. While she enjoyed her time at HBU, she chose to remain in Dr. Lester's studio, following him to Palm Beach Atlantic University in Palm Beach, Florida, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Music.

Her time at PBA was a whirlwind; she worked with several brilliant instructors and musicians, including Marilyn Mims and Gregory RitcheyWhile at PBA, Sydney also launched her private online teaching studio.

In the fall of her senior year, she was cast as an extra in Palm Beach Opera's production of Turandot, which would be performed in the spring of 2020. Turandot was, in fact, the second to last performance Sydney had before the Covid quarantine. She performed her graduation recital for a small audience in the spring of 2020.

She began her Master's Degree at Carnegie Mellon University in the spring of 2021, after taking a semester off due to pandemic shutdowns. At Carnegie, she joined the studio of the legendary Maria Spacagna, hailed for many operatic roles, such as Madame Butterfly in Puccini's Madame Butterfly

While at Carnegie, Sydney continued teaching in her private teaching studio. In the fall of 2021, she was the alternate for Serpetta in Mozart's La finta giardiniera and in the spring of 2022, she portrayed La Princess in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges and La Fèe in Viardot's Cendrillon. The summer before her final semester at Carnegie, she won VOICExperience's Opera Idol Competition and portrayed Monica in Menotti's The Medium in Ames, Iowa. She enjoyed her time at VOICExperience very much and was grateful to work with legendary baritone Sherrill Milnes.
